A new Web Experiment starts as a draft, and starting it requires a goal, variations, and a traffic split. Setting those up one at a time in the Kameleoon app takes time for every experiment you prepare. Your AI assistant can do it from one request: it attaches an existing goal, divides traffic between the original and its variations, and limits the experiment to the visitors you name, so the draft is ready to start once you’ve checked it. Changes to a draft apply right away, but after the experiment leaves draft, your assistant returns a preview and applies a change only after you confirm.

How the assistant prepares a draft

  • Settings the assistant can change: the goal, the traffic split, and the targeting rule of a draft experiment, along with the limits on changes to live traffic.
  • Prepare a draft experiment: a prompt that attaches the goal, sets the split, and targets visitors in one request.

Before you begin

  • Setup: Connect Kameleoon to your AI assistant. For a chat assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, see Connect Kameleoon to Claude and ChatGPT. For a coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, see Set up MCP clients.
  • Goal: a goal that already exists on your site, such as Purchase, and a draft experiment to prepare.

Settings the assistant can change

The assistant can attach a goal with experiment_update, which is the goal the experiment needs before it can start. It can set the traffic split with experiment_traffic_allocation_set. A new experiment comes with a targeting rule, and the assistant changes the segment or trigger of that rule with targeting_rule_update, so you don’t need to create a second rule. Changes that affect live traffic need your confirmation. When an experiment has left draft, the assistant first returns a preview of what will change, and it applies the change only after you confirm. The same applies when you change the conditions of a segment or trigger that anything other than a draft experiment uses. The assistant can’t change the traffic split of a running, deviated, or stopped experiment, or of an experiment that uses a bandit allocation method. Make that change in the Kameleoon app.

Prepare the draft with a prompt

Use this prompt to prepare a draft experiment so that it can start. The prompt attaches the goal, splits traffic 50/50 between the original and the variation, and targets phone visitors on the /pricing page. Enter your site code in the Site code field, which starts with the placeholder {{SITECODE}}. When the request works, the assistant finds the experiment and the goal, attaches the goal, sets the split, creates a segment for phone visitors and a trigger for the /pricing page, and binds both to the targeting rule that Kameleoon created with the experiment. The experiment now has a goal and a traffic split, which starting it requires. If the experiment has already left draft, the assistant returns a preview before it changes anything. Check the preview before you confirm. Tool parameters are in the Experiment tools reference.
